CT Leading a Young Musicianship Class
Summer Young Musicianship Classes with CT Lo
Classes on Fridays - July 3, 10, 17 and 24 of 2015
4:30 - 5:15 for four-year-olds.
5:15 - 6:00 for five-year-olds.
6:00 - 6:45 for six and seven-year-olds.
Group classes are ideal for young students as they create a safe, supportive and fun environment in which to learn with their peers. Parents are welcome to attend, but the children will begin to interact with each other instead of their parents. My group classes are strongly influenced by the Suzuki, Kodály and Orff-Schulwerk Methods. These methods emphasize the creation of a musical environment with their peers, the strengthening of musical understanding by creating a foundation through singing, listening, rhythmic and kinesthetic movement - which children do naturally. -CT
Key Concepts:
-
Ear training (identifiying chords, intervals, clapping simple and compound rhythm)
-
Reading and Writing Music
-
Interpreting dynamics, staccato and slur markings
Most children who stay from age four to eight can audition into music schools like
Claude Watson and the Bach's Children's Choir.
Class Fees: $150 including a non-refundable deposit of $45.
